![]() ![]() I'm growing frustrated but don't know what to do. No matter where I put the mods folder I have my mods in, it doesn't show up on the mod manager, and it doesn't merge. Mods don't show up no matter where the folder is, the only thing there is the patch note? Want to join in? Click EDIT to write this answer. I did get DAIToolsSuite_Loader.exe but an unhandled exception has occurred and won't let me proceed. ![]() I can only download DAIToolsSuite_Loader 1.0. In particular, it should honor the symlinked files in the profile.Need help with downloading Dai mods and mod manager? Start firefox and confirm the custom setting has taken effect.įirefox should not treat symlinks differently in Windows than in Unix. Copy the file to the profile directory.Ħ. Start firefox and confirm the custom setting has not taken effect.ĥ. Create a symlink from the default profile user.js to c:\user.js.Ĥ. Confirm that the setting is not already set in about:config. Create c:\user.js with a single setting override.Ģ. Therefore, I conclude that Mozilla (or possibly just Firefox) is not honoring symlinks in Windows (perhaps just for user.js, maybe for other files).ġ. I then start Firefox and it parses the file just fine. Sh -c ln -s ~/config/firefox/user.js ~/.mozilla/firefox/fault/user.js I checked out the file from the source code repository and symlinked it. ![]() I followed the same process on my Ubuntu 9.04 box. If instead I copy the file instead of creating a symlink, it parses the file and overrides the settings as expected. However, when I start Firefox, it appears to ignore the user.js file. This creates the symlink in the profile directory and I have confirmed that I can read and edit the file as if it were in the firefox profiles directory. For exampleĬmd /c mklink %appdata%\mozilla\firefox\Profiles\fault\user.js %userprofile%\config\firefox\user.js So I create user.js and add it to my source code repository, then create a symlink to it from my profile directory. I know there are probable add-ons to do this, but I'd prefer to control where the configuration is stored. Quick background: I'd like to store my firefox customizations in a source code repository so I can keep it synced between machines and easily create new machines. This is the webpage: Īnd here is the relevant text (red text is the important bit): I'm not really familiar with MKlink but from a quick look around the net I found at least one example of a program that was not honoring the MKlink for one of its files. Perhaps the MKlink caused the problem, but I would not think so since that is just a logical link from one physical place to another but the file structure should be the same to the program as far as reading and saving data I assume. I have my Drage Age Inquisition, under the Bioware folder "MKlink"ed to my data drive, since the Bioware folder under My Documents is on my SSD and I do not want it wasting writing so much data to my SSD since I save my game a lot. And I run several antivirus scans, from my main antivirus and good scan-only other ones weekly. Thanks for the possible cause, but my antivirus is set to alert me before it did anything, plus it would definitely put up notice if it did anything and my system is very clean as far as programs I have - nothing would be deleting stuff. If you have no antivirus, make sure to run something like Malwarebytes or Adwcleaner to make sure there is no malware that deletes files on your computer. Not sure without inspecting what is running on your computer. Perhaps you have a program that cleans up you hard drive and happens to target that file. Double check the programs you have running on your computer.
